Dublin Campaign Against the Bin Tax Press Release

High Court Judgement Will Not Cut Across Anti-Bin Tax Campaign

A High Court Judgement, which found against the Dublin Campaign Against the Bin Tax on a point of law today, does not in any way cut across the continuation of the Anti Bin Tax Campaign.

The Dublin City Campaign will consider the legal points in the Judgement and decide whether to appeal to the Supreme Court or to challenge Dublin City Council's implementation of domestic refuse charges on a number of other legal points that it has identified.

Meanwhile, a majority of householders in Dublin City continue to boycott the bin tax. The Campaign continues to be prepared to resist the implementation of non-collection of taxpayers' bins if Council management moves in that direction.

In the forthcoming Local and European Elections, householders will also have a major opportunity to make the bin tax a very important issue
