Paul Carpenter
the Clerk of Works for South Dublin County Council on the GAMA built
housing project in Balgaddy, turned up in Court in Ankara, Turkey on
5 May to give evidence for GAMA against the ex-GAMA workers who are
taking a case for un-paid wages.
The workers faxed
us the full court records. We got them translated and passed them on
to the County Manager.
A statement from the Council that is currently posted on their web site
says "It has been established that a member of staff did attend
such a hearing earlier this month in a personal capacity. His attendance
was without the authorisation or knowledge of the Council. The Council
has therefore commenced its disciplinary procedures in accordance with
its policies".
We are currently in the process of getting an official letter from the
Council that can be used by the ex-GAMA workers in Ankara to destroy
the credibility of Paul Carpenter and his evidence.
Once again this shows the lengths GAMA are willing to go to in both
the Turkish and Irish courts to try and keep a lid on the scandal that
the Socialist Party exposed last year. Only last October they won another
lucrative State contract to build the Castleblaney by-pass.
